Earlier today, the House of Representatives passed a resolution as a means of thanking three Capitol Police Officers -Crystal Griner, David Bailey and Henry Cabrera – for stepping in during yesterday’s tragic shooting. The three officers were assigned to Majority Whip Steve Scalise’s security detail.

House reading clerk Joe Novotny read the resolution out loud in a typical monotone voice, as done with legislative readings.

From Fox News:

The House “expresses its thanks” to first responders from Alexandria, Va., and “its hope for a speedy and full recovery for the injured.”

From The Hill:

The resolution, approved by voice vote, also expresses “hope for a full recovery for the injured.” Four people were shot by the gunman, including House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.), Zack Barth, a staffer for Rep. Roger Williams (R-Texas), a lobbyist and one of the Capitol Police officers.
