A group of Democrats in Congress are staging a “sit-in” on the House of Representatives floor until the body votes on a gun control bill currently under consideration.

The bipartisan “no fly, no buy” gun control bill would bar anyone on the “no-fly” list or “selectee” list of suspected terrorists.

The House was recessed by Rep. Ted Poe (R-Texas) this morning due to “Democrat objections and the House not being in order,” according to a floor update by the House press gallery. The Democrats were standing in the front of the chamber, speaking and disrupting.

“The chair finds that the house is currently not in a state of order, due to the presence of members in the well who are not recognized,” Poe said, before calling for a recess.

The action comes in the wake of June 12′s shooting in Orlando that killed 49. The shooting at Pulse nightclub has reignited the debate over gun control and how best to guard against terrorism within the U.S.
