On January 11, approximately 90 Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives signed a letter to President Barack Obama, asking him to use his executive authority to tighten restrictions on the importation of detachable-magazine, semi-automatic rifles. Obama could do so, by having the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) once again change its interpretation of a provision of the Gun Control Act of 1968 (GCA), as amended by the Firearms Owners’ Protection Act of 1986 (FOPA). …Read the Rest
