Besides a Critical Defense rifle offering for defensive situations, other new ammo lines include Hornady Dangerous Game, Subsonic and Frontier Cartridges as well as new additions to existing lines.
The new Critical Defense rifle line, for personal protection, includes offerings in two different .223 loads– 55 and 73-grain– as well as a 155-grain 308.

Joining the ranks of .300 Blackout loads, Hornady now has a 190-grain subsonic that provides a very impressive 16-18 inches of penetration.

And of course is the company’s new Lake City tie-in, loaded at the famed military facility but using Hornady bullets in .223 Rem and 5.56 NATO

DGX, or Dangerous Game eXpanding bullets, new for Hornady, are being sold in both components and full-up cartridges in the standalone line.

New additions to their Precision Hunter series includes a .25-06 Rem and .257 Weatherby Mag each with a 110-grain ELD-X bullet, a 6.5 PRC with a 143-grain load, and– a first for Hornady– offerings in .270 WSM, .280 Ackley Improved, and 7mm WSM. For big boys, they have a 230-grain .338 Win Mag and a 270-grain .338 Lapua Magnum

Added to their Custom line are a 180-grain 30-40 Krag and a .243 Win 80-grain VMAX load.
