Home Intruder Gets No Respect! Shot By Homeowner After First Break-in Fails

LONGS, SOUTH CAROLINA — At four thirty in the morning, an intruder attempted to gain entry to a woman’s home. After trying the door and getting no luck, he left. When he returned later in the morning, he tried again. This time, the homeowner was ready for him.

According to WBTW News 13, Daniel Frinks, 57, was shot by the homeowner as he tried to break into her home a second time the same morning. Horry County Fire Rescue arrived and administered aid to the wounded man. He went to the hospital where he was treated for his wounds and then turned over to law enforcement.

Frinks will be charged with attempting to gain entry for the purpose of burglary.

When you get a gun to defend your home, you may envision all sorts of potential scenarios unfolding whereby it comes in handy. Nothing can prepare you, though, for the moment that gun saves your life and property.

Frinks is assumed to be a complete stranger to both the homeowner and those nearby. Thus, it’s safe to say he targeted this home and figured it would be a good place to start a high-end burglary.
