Hammerli Arms Moving into U.S. Market with TAC R1 22 rifle (VIDEO)

Swiss-based Hammerli plans to offer a versatile AR-style .22 semi-automatic rifle to U.S. customers next month, the TAC R1.
Featuring a 13-inch free-float M-LOK handguard, folding back-up sights, and an adjustable stock with QD sling point, the .22LR also includes a host of features not found on many comparable plinkers. This includes a removable flash hider with 1/2x28TPI threads, making it suppressor-ready right out of the box, and a user-adjustable gas system that can be tuned across a wide array of loadings.
Hammerli, originally founded in 1863 by Johann Ulrich Hammerli to make rifle barrels for the Swiss Army, is well-known for their high-end precision target rifles and pistols. Acquired in 2006 by Walther, the TAC R1 is distributed by Hammerli through the parent company’s U.S. operation in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
“We are very excited to release this rifle. With Hammerli’s history and culture of making superior rifle products, the TAC R1 22 C combined all the features that customers want in a quality 22 rifle, at an extremely competitive price,” said Cody Osborn, marketing manager, at Hammerli Arms.
Available starting in May, MSRP has not been announced.
