Gun suppressors are nothing to fear

Some perspective is in order. Right now, getting a federal firearm permit requires a $200 fee, an extensive background check and a wait of several months. Possession of a silencer without a permit is a felony that carries a 10-year prison sentence. Under the proposed change, silencers would be treated like ordinary guns.
