In my search for the perfect truck pistol, I finally got my hands on the much heralded G40 MOS…the six-inch, optics-ready 10mm juggernaught. I had shot it’s older, littler brother, the G20 as my first entry into this series and found it wanting. As I said in that interview, I want to love GLOCKs, but I generally find them just okay for the job. But I keep trying in the hopes that I may find the GLOCK I can shoot well. This time, I may have found it . . .

To backtrack a bit, I hunt a lot. For about half the year, I’ll probably spend at least some part of the day, maybe five days a week, in the field. Most is spent walking around on my own, but some of that is acting as a guide, and some driving on large pieces of private land. For that, I’ve found that I need a pistol I can use to reliably and ethically take game, but that will also serve as a concealed carry firearm during short trips to town.
