Gun Owner Activism In Action: King William County, VA Reduces CHP From $50 To $15

Virginia – -(AmmoLand.com)- Hats off to Virginia Citizens Defense League member Thomas Matthew Coffin, Sr and to the King William Board of Supervisors. One man’s activism got the Board of Supervisors in King William, VA to reduce their CHP fee from $50 to $15. PLUS he got a letter to the editor published in the Country Courier to tell everyone about the reduced fee!

Regarding Concealed Handgun Permit Fees:

As a member of VCDL, I regularly receive information of value about our Second Amendment rights, especially how it pertains to Virginia.

I was informed that the VA. Code 18.2-308.03 states how these fees are to be implemented. A permit fee for 5 years is not to exceed $50. Two fees are nonnegotiable. $10 goes to the court and $5 to the Virginia State police. That leaves a $35 fee that is discretionary to each locality.
