The gun-free restaurant chain Waffle House’s McCollum-Sharpsburg location is attracting repeat customers in Coweta County, GA: armed robbers.

Around 11:20 p.m. Sunday night, two armed robbers entered the premises and demanded money from the register and individual employees. One of the suspects held a gun to a cook’s back while he waited for her to empty the contents of her purse, including her wallet. The other suspect had a waitress empty the till.

A 911 call was made by an employee who was outside on her break when she saw the suspects run into the restaurant. After she made the call, she hid behind the restaurant for protection.

After stealing $367, the two armed suspects ran outside to a getaway car driven by a third suspect.

The suspects are still on the loose and detectives are reviewing surveillance tapes in hopes of identifying the young men.

Investigators have described both men as being skinny, black males in their late teens or early twenties. They were both described to be between 5 ft. 7 and 5 ft. 10 inches tall. The car was described as a blue, four-door passenger vehicle.
