If you’re like me, you like to hunt in states other than the one you live in. I’m a Georgia resident, but I grew up in Tennessee. The majority of my family still lives in Tennessee on the family-land where I learned to hunt. Needless to say, I love hunting in TN. It’s especially nice during duck season (not the best flyway where I live).

HOWEVER, it seems like the Tennessee government doesn’t want me to enjoy the land of my ancestors. It’s not that I think they have something against me personally, but charging me over $300 a year kind of seems like a personal attack. My cause seems lost for now, but some fortunate souls in similar situations could see their annual hunting and fishing license fees CUT IN HALF!

A new bill has been brought in front of the Michigan State Senate that would cut the cost of out-of-state hunting and fishing licenses in half for individuals that meet certain requirements. According to Bill MI SB0635, two groups qualify:

  1. People who own property in Michigan but don’t use it as a primary residence.
