DPMS turned heads last year by introducing its GII series of .308 Winchester/7.62mm NATO AR-platform rifles. Unlike traditional ARs, these guns were built from the ground up to be the most compact and reliable big-bore ARs on the market. In fact, many 5.56mm NATO parts will work with DPMS’ GII rifles because of their streamlined designs.

The newest entry in the DPMS GII lineup is the GII Compact Hunter, which packs big-game punch in a lightweight modern sporting rifle that’s as easy to handle as it is to carry.

At only 6.9 pounds unloaded, the Compact Hunter offers full-sized power and accuracy in a versatile hunting solution.

Features include a 16-inch, 416 stainless steel, Teflon-coated barrel, a free-floating carbon-fiber handguard, a Hogue pistol grip and a B5 Systems SOPMOD stock. The GII Compact Hunter is available in .308 Winchester, .243 Winchester, .260 Remington and .338 Federal.
