Gander Outdoors, formerly Gander Mountain, announced 69 store openings for 2018 in a press release Thursday.
Camping World Holdings bought the outdoor retailer after it declared bankruptcy last year, shuttering 162 locations and revamping the brand to offer a better selection of guns — among other items — at better prices. The first Gander Outdoors store opened last month in Lakeville, Minnesota.
“It was important to me to bring Gander Outdoors back to many wonderful communities across the country because the employees are top notch and the stores provide great products and services for the community,” Lemonis said, adding his team has been working “tirelessly” while preparing to open the stores.
Lemonis six months negotiating with existing landlords to finalize the list of surviving stores. At one point, the list dwindled to just 57 locations.
“We feel this list of locations is very solid and ready to be up and running in the coming months,” he said. “Two locations have already opened, two more are slated to open next week and others will begin opening at a very rapid pace over the next few months.”
