So Nike pulled a Nike, and scrapped some pretty cool looking Betsy Ross flag themed kicks. Instead of offering the cool flag-themed Air Max 1 USA’ for Independence Day, Nike bowed down to Colin Kaepernick. Yes, the same kneeling ex-NFL quarterback who used anti-patriotism to protest racial injustice by police. When Kap cried foul, Nike got nervous. So while the shoe looked pretty cool, Nike decided to “Just Not Do It.”

“After images of the shoe were posted online, Mr. Kaepernick, a Nike endorser, reached out to company officials saying that he and others felt the Betsy Ross flag is an offensive symbol because of its connection to an era of slavery,” reported wsj.com.
