Italian Firearms Group recently announced the return of the Defiant Limited Pro to the American market. Moreover, the FT Italia-produced competition handgun is built for high level competition.

The re-introduced Defiant Limited Pro brings one change in 2019, as it now comes in both large- and small-frame models. Additionally, the Double/Single Action Limited Pro meets IPSC Production Class specifications.

The Limited Pro features a hard chrome finish, squared trigger guard and checkering on the front and back fo the frame, for better grip, according to IFG. Meanwhile, the pistol barrel utilizes polygonal rifling for greater accuracy. Further, large slide serrations encourage positive manipulation of the pistol.

The basic design the Defiant Limited Pro is derived from the CZ 75 pistol, the Czech semi-automatic that’s spawned an estimated one million offspring. Also, mechanically, one important facet of the CZ 75 design is its internal slide rails, which enables the pistol to run cleaner, according to IFG. The CZ 75 slide rides on cuts inside the frame, unlike most semi-autos—including 1911’s—where the pistol’s slide rides outside of the frame, according to IFG.
