One thing we here at Bearing Arms typically harp over is that criminals will do whatever they can to get their hands on guns, thus negating gun control laws.

Of course, some anti-gunners respond that if guns aren’t available, the criminals won’t be able to do things like stealing the guns. It might be a fair point, at least on some level. I mean, there are already so many guns in circulation that I doubt you’d see such an impact, but in theory, they might have something approaching a fair point…

…were it not for the fact that even the police aren’t immune to theft.

Guns belonging to Tennessee Highway Patrol Troopers are getting stolen straight out of the cruisers.

Since 2016, 13 THP service weapons have been stolen directly out of the squad car. Three of the stolen guns have been recovered.

The cars are already equipped with safes and locks to keep the guns from being stolen, but we uncovered how many times it’s not working.

“If you stole one thing you’re wrong,” said Memphian Jessica Townsend. “Hey, I got a whopping for stealing when I was (my daughter’s) age and never stole again.”
