The Federal Bureau of Investigation is arming its elite teams with Aimpoint Micros.

Specifically, the FBI Hostage Rescue Team and Defensive Systems Unit were authorized to choose between the Aimpoint Micro T-2 and Micro H-2 red dot sights. The HRT chose to arm its agents with the T-2, while the DSU selected the H-2 as its optic of choice.

The switch came after the Bureau conducted a battery of tests on optics from different manufacturers. After the selection process, the Aimpoint Micro T-2 and H-2 were authorized.

The Micro T-2 features a 1x optic parallax-free optic with a 2 MOA dot. The sight itself weighs only three ounces and is compatible with all generations of night vision devices. There are four night-vision-compatible settings along with eight daylight settings.

Micro_H-2-1Though the T-2 is battery-operated, ACET technology allows for a battery life of 50,000 hours of continuous operation. The scope housing itself has a hard-anodized non-reflective finish and is submersible down to 80 feet.
