Faxon Firearms “Gunner” Barrel

I was recently given the opportunity to try out a brand new Faxon Firearms AR barrel. As a proud owner of one of their ARAK-21 uppers, I was anxious to take a look at one of the newest addition to their AR barrel line. One of the reasons I like the ARAK-21 is that they were willing to design and try something all new. Along those lines, once again they stepped out of the conformist mold and came up with a totally new AR barrel profile, which they call the “Gunner”.

Stealing the description of this barrel profile straight from their product announcement email, this barrel is sort of the mullet haircut of barrel profiles:

“Our brand new ‘Gunner’ profile is all business in the back and maneuverability up front. We took the best features of our two most popular barrels, the SOCOM/Gov’t and Pencil barrels and with a bit of barrel-making voodoo, made them into the ‘Gunner.’”
