Father Of Six Catches Arsonist Trying To Light His Kitchen On Fire, Gives Him Opportunity To Leave But Forced To Defend Family

LUBBOCK, TEXAS — Good guy dad catches an intruder breaking into his home while him, his wife, and his six children were trying to sleep. One of his kids heard the break-in and got him up. He proceeded out to the kitchen with his firearm and saw an unknown man pouring lighter fluid on his kitchen floor.

If that’s not Mop N’ Glow and he doesn’t intend to make the floors spic n’ span, then there’s going to be BIG problems.

According to Lubbock police in their statement to Lubbock Avalanche-Journal, the father attempted to allow the intruder to leave peaceably. The would-be arsonist did not take him up on the offer.

“At that point, the father says the suspect told the family to get out of the house as he poured lighter fluid on the floor and attempted to light it on fire,” the statement reads. “The father says he told the suspect to stop or he would shoot, but the suspect became more agitated and began approaching him until he could no longer back up. The suspect was then shot in the stomach.”
