I can’t help but wonder if Beto O’Rourke is getting ready to end his campaign for president. His “campaign reset” focusing on gun control hasn’t given him a bump in polling; in fact his best poll in the past week had him at four percent in the presidential primary, and there’ve been seven polls in the last seven days where O’Rourke received zero or one percent support from respondents. He’s joked about threatening a kitten in order to drive up donations, and today just happens to be the filing deadline for 3rd quarter campaign fundraising efforts. O’Rourke raised $3.6-million from April to June of this year, which was a pretty steep drop from the $6-million he raised in his first 24 hours as a candidate. And once heightened qualifications for debates kick in starting in November, he’ll need to average four percent in the polls in order to be on the debate stage. As of right now, he’d be watching the debates on TV like the rest of us instead of dropping f-bombs in front of a national audience.
