Hey, look! Hollywood has jumped on board with Everytown and VH1 to be hypocritical again!

From the VH1 website:

More than 30,000 Americans die every year due to gun violence. That’s an average of 91 Americans every day. This year VH1 will join the Wear Orange campaign on June 2 for National Gun Violence Awareness Day to call for an end to gun violence and to honor far too many lives cut short.

Chicago teens wanted to honor the life of their friend and inspired the Wear Orange campaign. What started in their high school has grown into a national movement, and on June 2nd – Hadiya’s birthday – people nationwide will again come together to show their support for an America free from gun violence.

Last year on June 2, millions of Americans joined Hadiya’s friends and Everytown for Gun Safety, a movement of Americans working to end gun violence, by wearing orange and changing Facebook and Twitter photos to orange.

Celebrities including BJ the Chicago Kid, Julianne Moore, Russell Simmons, Sarah Silverman, Michael Stipe, Aasif Mandvi, and Questlove; sports teams like the New York Mets; and over 70 US mayors joined the Wear Orange campaign in protest of gun violence.
