DRD Tactical announced the Aptus Multi-Caliber Weapon System is now shipping, offering consumers 5.56 NATO and .300 BLK caliber rifle and pistol options.
Aptus is a semi-automatic system crafted using DRD Tactical’s patented quick barrel and internal recoil system. Direct gas operated, the rifle boasts a Magpul folding stock, left sided non-reciprocating charnging handle and M-LOK on the rail hand guards. Aptus utilizes a bevy of AR-15 interchangeable parts and pieces to include lower parts kits, pistol grip, gas block, gas tube, bolt, firing pin and cotter pin.
Available in hard coat anodized Type III Black or NiB Battle Worn finish, the system comes in a couple of configurations — a rifle or pistol with folding SB Tactical pistol brace or without. Rifles are equipped with 16-inch barrels while pistols are available in 7.5-inch, 8.5-inch, 10.5-inch or 11.5-inch barrel options.
Though the Aptus is limited to just 5.56 NATO and .300 BLK for the moment, DRD Tactical says more calibers are set to the lineup in October.
The system ranges in price from $1,495 to $2,075 depending on model.
