DoubleStar unveils lightweight, rugged AR gas block

Firearms and parts maker DoubleStar is set to launch the Superlite Gas Block, a new lightweight, durable gas block designed for the AR platform.
The Superlite Gas Block weights only 2.4 ounces for an ultra lightweight addition to the AR. Machined from 6061 T6 aircraft aluminum, the Superlite features a Type III hard coat anodized finish to match most AR style uppers.
The block integrates a 1913 Picatinny rail which matches the height of any standard mil-spec flattop upper receiver. This allows the use of any same-plane flip up front sight.
“If you are looking for an option for same plane sights on a lightweight but durable gas block, this is it!” said Nick Collier, DoubleStar director of special operations
The part features five set screws for a secure fit to the barrel with no movement. The block is long enough to cover the front sight pins location on the barrel, offering a sleeker looking build.
The Superlite Gas Block offers a MSRP of $46.99.
