obama said he does not believe people should be allowed to own guns

Rather than listen to more political rhetoric from President Obama in tonight’s State of the Union address I thought I would do something more productive.

So here is a friendly reminder of where our president is actually coming from whenever he makes a comment on guns.

Undoubtedly Obama will harp on why we need more gun control — Oh I’m sorry, I mean gun “safety” as that other term is no longer suitable for anti-gunners who wish to restrict 2nd amendment rights through subterfuge.

Every time you hear him say the word “gun” I want you to remember what he said in 1996. Because as much as he wants us to believe that he supports and defends the 2nd amendment, this comment is what he lives.

The comment was made back in 1996 and John Lott was there to hear it when the two men were attending the University of Chicago Law School.

John Lott’s recent article on The Daily Caller mentioned how the comment came to be.

The president forcefully claimed: “I respect the Second Amendment; I respect the right to bear arms; I respect people who want a gun for self-protection.”
