A lot of 18-year-olds have lofty aspirations. It’s the joy of being 18.

However, since they’re legally adults, they’re told to either work toward that aspiration or just shut up about it. No one really cares because, well, some 18-year-olds aren’t much different from some of their younger peers. They change with the tide.

But, then again, most 18-year-olds aren’t treated by the media as if they were some messiah, either.

David Hogg isn’t your typical 18-year-old. His pronouncements are etched in media stone. So when he says he’s going to run for Congress at 25, he’s probably more locked into that than most.

David Hogg, the 18-year-old school shooting survivor turned gun-control activist, says he’s gearing up to run for Congress when he’s constitutionally eligible.

Speaking to New York Magazine, Hogg described his ideal seven-year plan, which culminates with him running for the House of Representatives when he’s 25.

“I think I’ve come to that conclusion,” he told the magazine. “I want to be at least part of the change in Congress.”
