In a heated debate Thursday night with Democratic strategist Nomiki Konst, Blaze personality Dana Loesch argued that, by attempting to regulate the AR-15, progressives are effectively launching a “war on women.”

Konst, who argued that the “good guy with a gun” is only marginally successful when it comes to stopping an active shooter, told Loesch that efforts to increase gun control is “not about ‘giving us your gun,’” but is instead about “about expanded background checks.”

But Loesch didn’t buy Konst’s claim: “Yes it is,” she interjected.

“No, it’s not, Dana. No one’s saying—,” Konst shot back, before the discussion devolved into a yelling match of sorts between the two commentators.

At the most heated point in the debate, Kelly asked Loesch why the AR-15, the rifle widely discussed since the Orlando terror attack, needs to be available to the general public. In response, the conservative firebrand said, “This is a war on women because the AR-15 is the most popular weapon with women.”

“Oh, come on, Dana!” Konst exclaimed. “You’re talking about—.”

At that, the debate escalated again and Kelly cut the two women off.
