Congressman refuses to participate in moment of silence for Vegas victims

Rep. Seth Moulton (D-Mass.) announced via Twitter Monday that he would not join his fellow congressmen and women to participate in a moment of silence for the victims of a mass shooting in Las Vegas over the weekend that left 59 dead and more than 500 injured.
Moulton, who also refused to take a moment of silence following the Pulse nightclub shooting last year, implied that such actions only become an excuse for inaction, and while some applauded the politician’s move, others called it disrespectful and heartless. Nonetheless, Moulton said it’s time for action.

The congressman and Iraq war veteran then called for gun control reform and also retweeted a previous post that indicated certain weapons do not belong in the hands of civilians.
