AUSTIN, ARKANSAS — A passerby noticed a fight while heading home from work, and understanding the severity of what was happening, decided to intervene with his firearm. That move likely saved a life.

Two brothers were fighting, but it was much more than a fist fight. One of the brothers, Chris Terry, began to stab the other, identified as Darren Terry. He suffered three stab wounds, and would probably not be alive if a stranger hadn’t come to help.

As a trained member of the US Military and a concealed carry permit holder, Teel knew exactly the right thing to do.

“Lt. Teel’s actions on April 3rd most definitely saved a life. Lt. Teel is a perfect example of a responsible concealed carry permit holder. He acted heroically in the face of extreme danger and avoided a tragedy,” Austin Police Chief Bill Duerson said.
