Colt, a well-known firearms manufacturer out of Connecticut, announced that they would be suspending the production of it’s AR-15 rifles for the civilian market, but assures everyone that they’re still very much pro-2A.

Colt’s chief executive officer, Dennis Veilleux, says it is not permanently ending production but believes there is already an adequate supply of sporting rifles on the market. He said in a statement Thursday the company will concentrate on fulfilling military and law enforcement contracts with its rifle manufacturing.

I’m not trying to be critical of Colt, but their reasoning seems a little off, considering the political climate at the moment.

Veilleux said in the statement the company remains committed to the Second Amendment and is adapting to consumer demand.

Adapting to consumer demand would translate to: Customer demand for AR-15’s is, at the moment, low. I’m quite certain that it’s the exact opposite, with AR-15 sales going through the roof, especially after the Democratic Debates.

Take this as an example;
