Colt Defense and FN America this week were awarded a $212 million contract from the U.S. Army for M4 and M4A1 carbines.

Colt and FN agreed to a firm-fixed-price multi-year contract for the M4 and M4A1 carbines.

The Army’s contract will run through Sept. 24, 2020, according to the Defense Department.

Bids were solicited via the Internet with a total of six received.

The Defense Department announced that funding and work location will be determined with each order.

Contracting activity for the deal will be done by Army Contracting Command at Picatinny Arsenal.
