Well, here’s one we didn’t see coming. The Chinese Foreign Ministry suggested Thursday the U.S. Army might be to blame for causing the global pandemic of COVID-19. Most medical experts point to Wuhan, China, where doctors first detected and reported the virus late last year.

Chinese Foreign Ministry Says US Army Might Be to Blame

A foreign ministry spokesperson, Zhao Lijian, tweeted in English: “When did patient zero begin in US? How many people are infected? What are the names of the hospitals?” reported foxnews.com. He further suggested it “might be [the] US army who brought the epidemic to Wuhan. Be transparent! Make public your data! US owe us an explanation.”

The wildly unexpected declaration the U.S. might be responsible comes just days after a Chinese ambassador deflected the assertion China was to blame. “Although the epidemic first broke out in china, it did not necessarily mean that the virus originated from China, let alone ‘made in China,’” the unnamed ambassador tweeted, according to foxnews.com.
