Car Repair Shop Owner Shoots And Kills Angry Customer During Dispute, Circumstances Hazy

POMPANO BEACH, FL — The owner of a body shop in Florida became involved in a shooting when a dispute with a customer turned deadly, WPLG reports.

Apparently, the customer in question, 28-year-old Richard Buchanan, took issue with the repairs made to his vehicle.

The shop owner, William Mann, 52, ended up shooting Buchanan one time.

Buchanan later died of his injuries.

WPLG states that it is unclear whether or not Mann will be charged, and the investigation was ongoing as of May 19.

It’s funny — when I was in class to receive my concealed carry training, this exact situation was one of the object lessons. And I mean, pretty close to exact.

My instructor warned of a man he had heard of who had gotten in a business dispute with a customer. The two got into an altercation, and the customer eventually shot the business owner.

That customer was eventually arrested for the shooting because he had a hand in starting the fight — the shooting wasn’t really in self-defense.

Although there’s no way to know whether or not something similar happened in this case, it shows how hazy things can get.
