Glock will release a Canadian edition of the G19 Gen 4 pistol. The only difference from US versions of the G19 is the barrel is slightly longer at 106 millimeters. This will make it compliant with Canadian firearm laws that state that pistols must have a barrel length of 106 mm or longer to be legally owned.
Besides the barrel length, there’s a maple leaf laser engraved on the slide. Other than that, the pistol will have all of the regular Gen 4 features according to Jim Cassells, the Canadian Sales Manager for Glock. He was on hand at the Glock booth at SHOT Show in Las Vegas showing the gun to the public. It will come with three 10-round magazines, the magazine limit for handguns in Canada, and will be available for purchase in Canada at the end of January 2018 for a MSRP of $780 CAD.
“The G19 is worldwide our most popular model,” Cassells told Guns.com. “It’s always been in demand in Canada. And so, to answer the demand in Canada, Glock has gone ahead and committed to making a gun that’s complaint for Canada.”
