RAYMONDVILLE, TX — A man’s brother found himself in a world of hurt when he invaded the man’s home early this month.

What’s more, he did so in defiance of a protective order — and we all know just how effective a piece of paper those can be.

I hope you can catch the sarcasm. As the Valley Morning Star reports:

Willacy County Sheriff Larry Spence declined to disclose the man’s name. Spence said the man’s brother apparently shot him after the two exchanged gunfire at about 6:30 a.m. today in the family home off FM 186 west of Raymondville. The man used a key to enter the home after his family filed a protective order to keep him out of the house, Spence said.

“He was going from room to room,” Spence said.

Spence said the man’s brother shot him twice.

“He claims he saw him raise a rifle barrel,” Spence said of the brother’s account of the shooting. At about noon, the man was awaiting surgery at a hospital.

I don’t know what kind of family feud spawned a restraining order, brother against brother, and I don’t really want to know. If I were to guess, however, whatever this was happened …Read the Rest
