BREAKING: “Active Shooter” At Mississippi State University

The campus Twitter alert @maroonalert at Mississippi State University in Starksville, MS, is a reporting the presence and capture of an “active shooter” at Carpenter Hall, the site of the university’s mechanical engineering department.
Suspected shooter in custody. Seek safety until further notice

No further information is available at this time.
There is the distinct possibility that this is a false alert, as false reports often happen the day after a highly-publicized event like the shooting of three people by a failed journalist in Virginia yesterday.
Update: @maroonalert may have misfired in their earlier claims of an active shooter.
Classes are suspended until 2pm. Don’t not attempt to leave classroom. Stay indoors. Do not attempt to go to your vehicle.
