HALL COUNTY, GA — An enraged father shot and killed his daughter’s boyfriend after he shot her with a shotgun, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

The daughter’s boyfriend, 25-year-old Thomas McNulty, had recently been fired from his job for bringing a handgun to work, which was against company policy.

Tension seems to have been high when McNulty made the mistake that would cost him his life.

As The Atlanta Journal-Constution reports:

About 4:30 a.m. Sunday, investigators responded to a home in the 3400 block of Jet-Wright Road in Hall County, where a woman had a shotgun wound to her back, sheriff’s Lt. Scott Ware said.

Thomas McNulty, 25, shot Jessica Rusk after a fight at the home, Ware said. Immediately afterward, her father, Floyd Rusk, shot and killed McNutly, Ware said… The 22-year-old woman shot by McNulty was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center, where she remains in stable condition and is expected to make a full recovery, according to the sheriff’s office.

Charges won’t be filed for this shooting.
