Border Patrol find $12M worth of meth in tractor trailer

Border Patrol agents out of Pharr, Texas, made a massive drug bust at the Port of Entry earlier this month.
Officers assigned to the Pharr International Bridge came in contact with an individual driving a white 2004 Freightliner tractor trailer on March 3. Inconsistencies led to a secondary inspection, which included the use of non-intrusive imagining and a canine team.
The secondary inspection turned up what appeared to be 615 pounds of methamphetamine hidden within bottles of cleaning solution. The drugs have an approximate value of more than $12.3 million and mark the largest meth seizure in the port’s history.
Port Director Javier Cantu, Hidalgo/Pharr/Anzalduas Port of Entry commended the officers for their outstanding work, attention to detail, vigilance, and dedication.
