HUNT COUNTY, TX (KLTV) – The bodies of a father and son have been recovered from Lake Tawakoni.

The father and son went missing during a duck hunting excursion on Lake Tawakoni Monday.

According to Hunt County Game Warden Gary Miller Jr., around 7 p.m. Monday, game wardens were called out to an area of Lake Tawakoni after two hunters were reported missing.

Authorities say the wife of the hunter called Hunt County Sheriff’s Office when her husband and 5-year-old son hadn’t returned home Monday evening. The pair left before dawn to go duck hunting on Lake Tawakoni. They had not been heard from since leaving the house.

Game wardens began searching for the man’s vehicle and trailer, which they found at the Caddo Landing Boat Ramp on County Road 3235, in the Caddo arm of the lake. At that point they began doing a surface search of the lake, looking for duck decoys and other items used in duck hunting.

During the search, the father and son’s dog was located, and crews began searching the area where the dog was found. According to Game Warden Miller, search crews found the boy’s body attached to a piece of timber sticking up from the water …Read the Rest
