Black Wood USA released a new PDW stock created for the AR-15 platform featuring a solid wood butt plate.
The latest addition to Black Wood USA’s accessory arsenal, the PDW stock utilizes Strike Industries’ Viper PDW mechanism as the foundation of its design. The Viper is unique in that it doesn’t require proprietary add-ons to function properly. Black Wood USA said when it set about designing the wood PDW stock, it wanted to ensure the accessory would work with a range of rifles.
“We wanted the stock to work with as many different rifle setups as possible,” Black Wood USA co-founder and CEO William Mengon said in a press release, “Strike’s PDW had the widest range of compatibility of all the PDW mechanism options we explored.”

The wood PDW stock in walnut features an ambidextrous push-button deployment with integrated ambidextrous sling swivel mounts and compatibility with several ambidextrous lower receivers. Weighing 22-ounces, the stocks are all finished and assembled by hand. Mengon added that the company’s desire to produce a wood stock for the AR-15
