Billed as the world’s first biometric finger trigger lock, the Identilock is now on its way to overseas consumers providing an option to prevent unauthorized persons from accessing a personal firearm.
The Identilock is available for popular firearms such as Glock, Smith & Wesson M&P and M&P Shield, and the Sig Sauer P229. Also listed are 1911 models from Smith & Wesson, Remington, Colt, Ruger, Springfield Armory, Kimber, Ed Brown and Sig Sauer.
The device works by utilizing an advanced version of smartphone technology paired with a locking mechanism powered by a shape metal alloy. The system allows users to log up to three authorized profiles, including a master profile that can disable other profiles, so gun owners can prevent unauthorized persons from accessing the trigger area of their gun. The unit releases in 0.3 seconds when a verified user scans a finger or with a key as a secondary backup.
