Thanks to technological advances in miniaturization, battery performance, and electronics durability, we now have light and laser combinations perfectly suitable for concealed carry use.

If you consider lights and lasers as an addition of capability rather than a crutch, then there’s no reason not to have them available assuming that there is no undue “cost” in terms of bulk and weight.
