Lake Charles, Louisiana -(Ammoland.com)- Upland hunters and conservationists in Louisiana have formed the second chapter of Quail Forever in the state.

Officially known as the Southwest Louisiana Chapter of Quail Forever, local volunteers have set their sights on public and private land partnerships to positively influence bobwhite quail numbers, while providing opportunities for youth to experience the great outdoors.

“Our chapter was formed by a group of concerned hunters who want to restore the tradition of quail hunting in southern Louisiana,” stated Paul Frischhertz, elected president for the Southwest Louisiana Chapter of Quail Forever. “The chapter is anxious to partner with state and federal agencies to develop and implement upland habitat improvements for quail focus areas in our region. Additionally, the chapter would like to introduce more young people to the vast amount of outdoor opportunities in our region, including quail hunting.”
