BattleView 360 ‘See-through’ Armored Vehicle System Makes U.S. Debut

Washington, DC -(AmmoLand.com)- BAE Systems has leveraged advanced jet fighter technology to create a system that allows soldiers to effectively ‘see through’ their armored vehicles.

The system, called BattleView 360, is making its U.S. debut at the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) exhibition. The agile situational awareness system gives vehicle crews a real-time, 360-degree view of their surrounding environment, better enabling decision making, friend-or-foe classification, communication of plans and instructions to other vehicles crews, and safer route planning.

BattleView 360 is highly adaptable and is being designed to seamlessly integrate with multiple existing vehicle types, operating systems, and radios.

“Knowing what’s going on around you has always been a challenge for armored vehicle crews inside noisy machines with limited visibility,” said Peder Sjölund, technology manager at BAE Systems Hägglunds. “BattleView 360 builds on years of work across BAE Systems to improve situational awareness and integrate information so that crew workload is reduced and they can make fast, yet effective, decisions.
