In the beginning when man first started to launch projectiles they immediately looked for ways to carry their spare ammunition on their bodies. The animal skin pouch carried rocks, quiver for arrows, and leather satchel for lead balls are all examples of this throughout history. The High Speed Gear Industries (HSGI) “Polymer Tacos” and the G-code “Scorpion Soft Shell” are two modern options that satisfy this need to carry spare projectiles in today’s modern era.
The Taco and Scorpion function very similarly. Both use a bungee to regulate the retention and the size of the pouch. This is a big advantage because you can run a variety of magazines in your pistol or rifle pouches. In fact if you want to you can also use the Taco and Scorpion as utility pouches. Over the last 45 days we have all kinds of magazines from .308 M1A mags to CZ Scorpion mags including flashlights and multitools in the pistol pouches. A good level of retention was maintained across the board no matter what I decided to stick in the pouch.
