Barnes Bullets issued a recall Wednesday on 18 lots of its 300 Weatherby 180 grain TTSX VOR-TX ammunition after the ammo maker determined that the loads may contain cartridges of a different caliber.
The 18 lot numbers identified are:

Z08SB15L
Z09SA15L
Z09SB15L
Z11SB15L
Z11SC15L
Z12SA15L

Z12SC15L
Z08SA15R

Z09SA15R
Z09SB15R
Z11SB15R
Z11SC15R,
Z12SA15R
Z12SB15R
Z12SC15R

Firing a rifle with the incorrect caliber of ammunition can not only severely damage the firearm but it can also result in serious personal injury or even death to the shooter.
Barnes says consumers should immediately check the lot number stenciled either on the outside of the case or inside flap of the box to determine whether their ammunition is affected. The company urges affected consumers to contact Barnes immediately to arrange the return of the recalled ammunition. The company will handle the return shipment and upon receipt will send replacement ammo at no cost back to the consumer.
