There was a shootout that involved two men at a Houston gas station.

It started as a 34 year old man walked into a gas station while leaving his SUV running in the parking space. As he was at the checkout he saw a young man get into his black Chevy Blazer.

The customer who has a legal CCW rushed outside and confronted the car thief.

As the thug tried to drive off he hit a pole. The car owner chased him down with his weapon drawn. The thief responded by pulling out his own weapon and the shootout began.

“Both the suspect and the complainant were hit by gunfire they were transported to the hospital and both are expected to survive,” Lt. Larry Crowson, HPD.

The witness, Edwin Dean, said, “All of a sudden we heard pop, pop, pop, pop, pow, pow, pow, pow!”

Mr. Dean was home next door when he heard the bullets flying through his back yard and ricocheting off of his fence. “It brought me back to when I was a marine in Vietnam, that AK 47 has a distinct sound, a cracking sound,” he said. …read more
