ATF “Fully Committed” to Jeff Sessions’ Task Force on Gun Crime Reduction

In his prepared remarks to a House Judiciary subcommittee on Tuesday, acting ATF Director Thomas Brandon demonstrated his commitment to working with the Trump administration and Attorney General Jeff Sessions to reduce violent firearm crime in America.

As one of his first acts as the newly appointed Attorney General, Sessions created the Task Force on Criminal Reduction and Public Safety to follow President Trump’s executive orders to reduce crime in America. At a St. Louis speech last week Sessions stated,

[The task force] includes crime reduction experts from throughout our Department, including the heads of the FBI, ATF, DEA, and the U.S. Marshals Service. The task force is evaluating everything we are doing at the federal level. It has a variety of subcommittees that are already hard at work. I have asked for their initial recommendations by July 27th, but I will continue to act on their recommendations as they become available.

In his remarks to the subcommittee, acting ATF Director Thomas Brandon announced,
