Ask The Michigan Firearms Instructor

Q: Hi I thought I would ask you as you seem to know everything their (sic) is about guns. I purchased a couple rifles awhile back and no longer have a reason to have them. If I were to sell them what legal stuff do I need to do?

A: Long guns do not require registration in Michigan. As a non FFL dealer, your only legal obligation is to not sell them to buyers with a known firearm rights disability: known felony conviction, under the age of 18, misdemeanor DV conviction, active PPO, and etc.
