USA – It has been a busy month for the American Suppressor Association (ASA). We are currently tracking four pro-suppressor bills at the state level, with more to come.

Here is a quick overview:

Connecticut: H 6336, introduced on January 23rd by Rep. Rick Lopes would authorize the use of suppressors for hunting in Connecticut, one of two states that remain where ownership is legal but hunting is not (the other is Vermont). The bill has been referred to the Joint Committee on Environment.

Hawaii: House Bill 1589, sponsored by Representatives Sharon Har (D-42), Ryan Yamane (D-37), Richard Creagan (D-5), Lynn DeCoite (D-13), Ken Ito (D-49), Sam Kong (D-33), Angus McKelvey (D-10), Marcus Oshiro (D-46), Calvin Say (D-20) and James Tokioka (D-15), would make Hawaii the 43rd state to legalize the ownership of suppressors and the 41st state to legalize hunting with suppressors. The bill was introduced on January 25th and has been referred to committee.
