‘Arsenal’ of Weapons Found in Car of Brothers with Middle Eastern Ties
What started out as a simple case of a Good Samaritan confronting two men about littering could possibly turn into something much bigger. A closer look at the car from which the two men were littering revealed a cache of weapons, ammunition, and bomb-making materials.
Brothers Abdullah Alrifahe, 27, and Majid Alrifahe, 26, were arrested on May 11 in Minneapolis and charged with weapons violations. The local CBS affiliate, WCCO-TV, reported that Abdullah had recently been released from jail for a previous weapons conviction; he’s now facing a felony weapons charge, and his brother is facing a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct.
Inside the brothers’ car, police found a loaded AK-47, another rifle, a handgun, a grenade, large amounts of ammunition, and what would later be identified as bomb-making materials, including a drone.
The Good Samaritan, who requested to remain anonymous out of fear for his safety, says the charges don’t go far enough: “For what they found in their car, that is way too light.”
